SPRINGFIELD, MA – Attorney Susan Fentin, a partner with Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., will be a key speaker at the 2011 Advanced Employment Issues Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 6 and 7, 2011. Attorney Fentin will be part of the keynote panel that will begin the symposium and will be speaking on independent contractor misclassification, a topic of significance for employers in Massachusetts and elsewhere in the U.S.

· key issues in managing employees in today’s workplace, such as the ever-present and changing obligations under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), as well as the impact of social media

· ramped-up efforts by the Obama administration to achieve its goals through administrative agencies like the EEOC, DOL, NLRB, and OFCCP

· an update on healthcare reform

· lessons from the country’s most exceptional workplaces

· recruiting and retaining the best workers, and other topics of significance for management.

The event will take place at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, October 6 and 7, 2011. The symposium will be sponsored by M.
