Labor and Employment Legal Expert to Offer Area Human Service Agencies “Employment Law 101”

Because many supervisors and employers do not understand how their employment decisions can create liability — for their agencies and for themselves — an expert in labor and employment law from the management law firm of Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C. will present a day long seminar on Employment Law 101 on Thursday, June 7, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Delaney House in Holyoke, MA.  The seminar is sponsored by the Human Service Forum, a trade organization that provides a voice for human service organizations through leadership, information, advocacy, recognition, public relations, and capacity building.

This special program is specifically geared towards human service agencies and will give supervisors basic information about employment law and provide them with management skills and strategies that can help them avoid employment litigation.

The presenter will be Susan Fentin, a partner at Skoler, Abbott and Presser, P.C., and an expert in employment law.  Fee for the program is $105 for Human Service Forum members and $160 for non-members.  The event will include a continental breakfast and lunch.

To attend, please register online at www.humanserviceforum.org or call (413) 693-0205.
