Skoler, Abbott & Presser Attorneys Named to 2013 Best Lawyers in America

This selection makes Abbott and Presser part of a distinguished group of attorneys who have been listed in Best Lawyers® for twenty years or longer. Mr. Abbott, who was first named to the list in 1989, was honored this year in the categories of Arbitration, Employment Law – Management, Labor Law – Management, and Mediation. Mr. Presser, who was honored in the categories of Employment Law – Management, Labor Law – Management, and Litigation – Labor and Employment, was first included in the Best Lawyers list in 1991.

Mr. Glenn received his first Best Lawyers designation in 1995. He is listed in the 2013 edition of Best Lawyers in the Arbitration, Employment Law – Management, and Labor Law – Management categories. The 2013 edition marks the first time Mr. Murphy, named in the Employment Law – Management, Labor Law – Management, and Litigation – Labor and Employment categories, will appear in Best Lawyers.

A partner since 1975, Ralph Abbottis known throughout the legal community for his work representing management in labor relations and employment-related matters, providing employment-related advice to employers, assisting clients in remaining union free, and representing employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). He has been widely recognized as one of the country’s leading attorneys in the labor and employment field in numerous national publications.  He was included in the Tenth Anniversary Edition of The Best Lawyers in America and has repeatedly been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

Jay Presser has more than thirty years of experience litigating employment cases before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies such as the NLRB, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and the Labor Relations Commission. He was included in the Tenth Anniversary Edition of The Best Lawyers in America and has repeatedly been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

John Glenn, a member of the firm since 1979, has spent his career representing management in labor relations and employment-related matters. In addition to advising employers, he assists clients in remaining union-free and represents employers before the NLRB. He has extensive experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and representing employers at arbitration hearings and before state and federal agencies. He was included in the Tenth Anniversary Edition of The Best Lawyers in America and has also  been selected as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

Tim Murphy joined Skoler, Abbott & Presser in 2001 following years as General Counsel to an area labor union, and service as an Assistant District Attorney for the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office. His practice includes labor relations and employment litigation, as well as employment counseling. A frequent contributor to business and human resource publications and a contributing author to the Massachusetts Employment Law Letter, he was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers of Massachusetts in 2005.
