Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C. Welcomes Two New Associates

SPRINGFIELD, MA – Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., one of the largest law firms in New England specializing in the practice of labor relations and employment law exclusively for management, is pleased to welcome two new associates to the firm. Jasmin M. Rojas, who resides in Springfield, MA, and John S. Gannon, who resides in West Springfield, MA, will join the firm’s eight current attorneys.

Ms. Rojas, whose practice concentrates on employment counseling and litigation, is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut state court. She received a Juris Doctor cum laude in May 2009 from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, MA, where she ranked in the top 10% of her class. In 1999, she received a Bachelor of Arts in history and psychology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME.

Her legal experience includes positions at Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C., and the Connecticut Superior Court, both in Hartford, CT; Bacon Wilson P.C. in Springfield, MA; the Internal Revenue Service, Office of The Chief Counsel in East Hartford, CT; and Robinson & Cole of Hartford, CT.

Prior to her legal career, Rojas worked with private clients and members of the general public as a counselor, case manager and program director in the mental health industry at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, MA, and with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and the Mental Health Association, both in Springfield, MA.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hampden County Lawyers for Justice, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association. Attorney Rojas is also fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational French and Italian.

Attorney Gannon is admitted to practice in Connecticut. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in May 2009 from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, MA, where he ranked in the top 5% of his class and was the Note Editor and a staff member of the Western New England Law Review. In addition, he was a CALI award recipient for Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Family Law, Child, Family and State and Conflict of Laws; as well as a recipient of the John M. P. O’Malley Scholarship. Gannon has a May 2000 Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in marketing from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Gannon’s legal experience includes work as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable David M. Borden and George D. Stoughton at the Connecticut Appellate Court, and as a Judicial Intern for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, both in Hartford, CT. He also served as a Research Assistant at the Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, MA.

Prior to his legal work, Attorney Gannon had a career in marketing and advertising with a national nutrition company and an advertising firm.

Both attorneys began their tenure with Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., on Monday, August 15, 2011.
