This year’s symposium will provide critical information for employers in four significant areas: new employment law enforcement efforts by federal agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP); evolving case law interpreting the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) under the amendments to the ADA and the new EEOC regulations, including the difficult area of compliance; employment issues related to social media; and hiring and retention concerns as the economy begins to improve.

  • The Labor Department’s Wage & Hour Division’s latest enforcement priorities, what they mean for employers, and what employers can do now to prepare for a possible DOL audit
  • Individual programs that deal with misclassification of employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Healthcare reform updates following the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act, immigration, and I-9 challenges, including the new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals initiative
