Webinar

Is Your Employee Handbook Up-to-Date and Legally Compliant?

Date/Time:
Apr 23 2024 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Please join Attorney Meaghan E. Murphy of Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., for a webinar on April 23, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., to learn why it is critical for employers to review and update their Employee Handbooks sooner rather than later.

Employee Handbooks are invaluable tools for employers to communicate workplace policies and expectations for employees, and to inform employees of benefits and other terms and conditions of employment.  They are also a great way for employers to comply with laws and regulations that require employers to have certain written policies in place or to provide specific notices to their employees.

In the last year, there have been notable changes at the state and federal level that may require employers to update their handbooks to avoid liability for noncompliance.  For example, a recent National Labor Relations Board decision calls for greater scrutiny of employer workplace policies in general, which will inevitably render many once-lawful policies unlawful.  Given these changes, are you confident your Employee Handbook could withstand a legal challenge?

During the webinar, Attorney Murphy will cover the following topics:

  • Legally required policies and where employers often make mistakes;
  • Liability created by incomplete handbooks;
  • Recent NLRB cases that impact employee handbooks, even in non-unionized workplaces; and
  • Why employers should have a handbook review conducted soon.
